Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What exactly do you do?

We convert your design/template into XHTML/CSS format. This includes dropdown menus, mouse-over effects, image carousel/slide, show/hide tabs, and other basic javascript functions.
We can also tailor your design into a CMS-based website, using popular frameworks such as WordPress and phpBB.

Why Converttoxhtml and not the others?

Here are some of the benefits:

  • Well-structured and documented XHTML/CSS files
  • Image optimization for faster loading
  • Optimized for search engine spiders, SEO-friendly

What kind of information do I need to have at time of order?

  • Source files of the design/template to be converted
  • Specific and detailed job description, covering necessary technical points
  • If you are using non-standard fonts, please include the .otf or .ttf files. These files will be used as embedded fonts.

What format should the source file be?

For the best results, we suggest that you send us the PSD format. However, we also accept several other formats such as JPG, PNG, AI, PDF, etc.

How does a design/template count as a page?

A page with a different layout design will be regarded as one page. (i.e. home page, product/profile page, gallery, or contact page) You have the option to have us convert all of the pages that you already have within the whole website, or to send us your home and interior pages and you can build out the rest of the pages based on that template.

What about complex designs/templates?

In this case, we will contact you if your design is too complex to develop. For these types of situation, we usually charge an extra fee depending on the complexity of the design.

Will the website work cross browsers?

When we do the coding to your website, we constantly test the output in IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome across the two main operating systems (Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X). By doing this we guarantee your website will have the same appearance on 98% of the Internet screens.

What payment methods do you accept?

For the time being we accept Paypal payments and major Credit Cards (Mastercard and Visa) that Paypal accepts.

When is the payment due?

A down payment of 50% must be paid after you have placed the work order. The rest of the payment is due 2 days after the project is done and the final XHTML/CSS documents are in your hands.

What about revisions?

If you found an error or something does not work the way it should (bug), it becomes our responsibility and we will fix and finish the job without any fee. However, if the revision must be done because of a change in design and/or outside the original job description, we will have to make some fee adjustments. It will also affect the duration of work.

Is there a money back guarantee?

We will return you money fully if the project is cancelled before it begins. If the project is already on the way, we cannot return the down payment of 50% as we have to pay for resources. However, if you’re not satisfied with our work (this has never happened before), you won’t have to pay us the remaining 50%.
